Things answer our gaze. They appear indifferent to us simply because we regard them with an indifferent eye. But to the bright eye everything is a mirror; the sincere and serious look sees depth in all things.  - Gaston Bachelard

Cameras often feel like magic in my hands; when I look into the camera’s viewfinder it is as if the veil of this world is lifted and I am transported into a liminal realm. In the liminal realm, time envelops me in mystery as it simultaneously stands still while it also swirls around me in fluid motion. This altered state of consciousness allows me to see the utter beauty and essence of what I behold.

At times sculptures come to life and call to me. They appear to be caught in time, frozen, yet I can sense their spirit and animated forms as I look into their depths, and they answer my gaze.
